Want a giggle instead of a groan?
Imagine if the first thing you viewed on your device each day was this…
I don’t know about you, but the first thing I view online each day is the NEWS. Time for a change. I’d rather start the day with a giggle instead of a groan. This morning I came across Tatsura Tanaka’s “Kiki’s Delivery Service” in the above video and Miniature Calendar, which Tanaka’s been creating since 2111. I’ll view the news first, then switch to Tanaka’s Miniature Calendar for dessert.
Here’s other ways that I start the day off on a good start:
Upon waking, nuke an eye pillow for 30 seconds and cover my eyes until the pillow cools down.
Hold crystals in my hands next to my heart until the crystals warm up.
Brush my teeth and splash water on my face.
Take a hot shower and wash my hair weekly, even if it’s cold outside and I’m going outside directly after.
Walk around the block and exercise before breakfast.
Listen to uplifting music.
The more I move, the better I feel, every day for two to three hours. What a beating my body took all those years I sat…in the car, in my office, at conferences. These days I infuse exercise, including eye movements, neck rolls, and other kinds of physical movement, into my work and play, even when watching a movie.
Yes, I still read the news, contribute to world’s well-being, get down or moody, but pick-me-ups are faster and more frequent, out of the need to live long enough to be with my grandchildren, to hand-me-down dreams and be open to others’ perspectives.
Something To Think About
How do/can you get off to a good start each day?
When you’re down and out, how do you pull yourself up by your own hair
to turn yourself inside out and see the whole world with fresh eyes (Peter Weiss)? How do you bring lightness into your life throughout each day, including those days when you’re down and out?
